Subaru tips for a Safe and Merry Christmas!

5 holiday-travel tips

Book early. The sooner you schedule your flights, accommodations, and transportation, the more likely you are to get good deals and avoid last-minute stress—a win-win.

Stay flexible. If peak-day travel is an absolute must, at least give yourself—and traffic, and the weather, and your driver—plenty of extra time when you’re heading to airports or other crucial connections.

Pack light. The less luggage you have, the less time spent checking in and out of airports and hotels, and the less likely you are to lose something. Ship your gifts ahead of time so you don't have to bring them with you. 

Bring your own entertainment and eats. Traveling with kids? Instead of hauling their entire room along, focus on the faves: a special book, game, toy, or an all-new activity to keep them occupied. Don’t forget chargers for laptops and mobile devices and easy-to-grab snacks as well—plus extra baby wipes, which you’ll find useful in all kinds of situations.

Be patient with yourself and others. Not surprisingly, taking to the skies or streets with millions of other time-crunched travelers can be stressful! Giving yourself and those around you a lot of slack is key to lessening stress, and if you do start feeling overwhelmed, take a break: go for a quick walk, have a snack, meditate or pray. And remember to stay hydrated.

Findlay Subaru Prescott will also donate $75 to Horses with Heart and $75 to Yavapai Humane Society here in our community for each sold or leased vehicle. Additionally, for every Subaru vehicle routine service visit during the Share the Love Event, Findlay Subaru Prescott will donate $5 to our Hometown Charities. November 16 through January 2.

David Guyatt

I'm from Utah and have been living in Prescott for the past two years. I've been working in the car business for the same amount of time, and I really enjoy the service side of things. It's just awesome helping folks keep their cars on the road. Outside of work, I'm kind of famous for my fishing skills – it's my go-to hobby. Oh,
and when it comes to Subarus, the 1983 Subaru GL Wagon is my all-time favorite model.

Where are you from? Born and raised in Colorado, moved to Prescott 1.5 years ago

Why are you here? Moved to Prescott for the stable weather, mild winters and amazing community and plan to retire here – that’s a long ways off. I came to Findlay Subaru because I am passionate about automotive marketing and value their culture of teamwork, dedication to providing exceptional customer service, and their involvement in our community. I love Prescott, even more than my hometown, and am excited to be involved in efforts that supports our community.

What are you famous for? Being in the automotive industry, we tend to be known for the car we drive. My daily driver is an old 2002 Trans Am WS6 T-Top sports car that may not look the best but sure is fun to drive. The radio is broke, but that’s okay, I prefer to listen to the engine. I have my eye on the WRX, however, but don’t tell my son’s, they will be terribly jealous.

What are your hobbies? One of the many things I love about living in Prescott is all the off-roading trails. My family and I like to take our ATVs out on day trips or camping. One of our favorite spots is Mogollon Rim. When we are not doing that, we play with RC rock crawlers on the dells, take nature hikes and ride our e-bikes.
